Plectranthus is a vigorous foliage plant that cascades nicely over container rims, making it ideal for window boxes, hanging baskets, and flower containers. The foliage is extremely fragrant.
Plectranthus plants, pronounced pleck-TRAN-thuss, commonly called Swedish Ivy, is grown as an annual in all but zones 9 and 10, where it grows as a hardy plant. In the warmer states, it can also be grown as a ground cover. Sometimes the plants produce very small, usually white or pastel, tubular-shaped flowers.
