Ruby Bells Heuchera Seeds

SKU: SFS-HEU-RUBB-ER
Our ‘Ruby Bells’ Heuchera Seed yields intensely-colored, blood-red, larger-than- average blossoms on burgundy colored stems above medium-green, compact, well-mounded foliage. More fragrant than many Coral Bells varieties, maybe due to their size, the blossoms will appear in late spring and bloom for up to 8-weeks. The panicles are well-branched, when compared to many, making a bold statement wherever they are planted! Approximately 50 seeds per each hand-filled packet. More details...

Ruby Bells Heuchera Seeds Growing Information

Heuchera flower seed normally takes 2 to 8 weeks to germinate. Heuchera can be started indoors prior to May 1st, or outdoors in most areas after May 1st. Blossoms may or may not appear the first year, but as the foliage is so unbelievably pretty, they won't usually be missed. Heuchera seeds need light to germinate, so do not cover, instead just pressing them lightly, but firmly, into the planting medium and then watering gently, yet thoroughly, keeping them consistently moist until sprouting. The jury is still out on whether or not the seeds should be put in the fridge for a period of time or not. Some swear that cold, moist stratification is necessary, which involves either putting them in water or in a damp environment, like a paper towel inside a baggy, in the fridge. We suggest talking with your local extension service or your neighbors to find what works best in your area.
