Korean Lespedeza is an annual forage legume crop that establishes very quickly, has been proven to produce significant weight gain in cattle and is the legume of choice for horses. Plant in your pasture once the danger of frost is over; with warm, moist conditions, you can turn your livestock out in June. Korea Lespedeza has exceptional heat and drought tolerance and is adaptable to poor soils with low pH levels.
In order to manage reseeding, take your livestock off mid-August. The lespedeza will bloom in September and set seed in October. In November you can turn your cattle back in. Lespedeza is also commonly used in wild bird game and food plots.
The recommended seeding rate is 25 pounds per acre.
