Dichondra seed should be planted when the weather is warm and in a thoroughly prepared, weed free seed bed. Work the soil well, pack it down, lightly rake the surface and then evenly scatter the seed, watering thoroughly but gently afterwards. Keep moist and if planting in a lawn or as a ground cover, ensure no foot traffic damages the very tender seedlings. Once established it is somewhat drought tolerant, wilting when it needs water, but usually reviving quickly once moisture is provided. Germination will normally take 4 to 6 days at 72 to 76°F. Once established, water infrequently but deeply. While becoming established, it is a real time-saver to use a sprinkler on a timer.
We also carry a variety of Dichondra Plants in individual 3" pots.
