Crimson Clover Seeds

Our ‘Crimson' Clover Seed is an annual variety of clover that is very easy to grow, is non-invasive and has fantastic strawberry-red, 1-inch flower spires, each having somewhere around 50 tiny blossoms that will eventually cover the spike from bottom to top. Easy to grow, this is a favorite for adding striking color to wildflower meadows and should not be confused with the perennial red clover that is much more invasive and not half as pretty once the flowers fade. Considered a cool-season annual, it will bloom early, but stop blooming when the summer heat becomes too much. You can also sow Crimson clover in the late summer and early fall for later fall to early winter color. As with other clover blossoms, they dry beautifully and are a striking addition to both fresh and dried flower arrangements. Approximately 500 seeds per each hand-filled packet. More details...

Clover seeds do not require light for germination, but do best when planted in ground that has been well worked. Cultivate the soil down at least a couple of inches, smoothing the soil out to provide a more uniform planting surface. Broadcast the seeds over the area and rake in very lightly so as to cover the seeds with no more than 1/4-inch soil. You can also broadcast and then sprinkle soil over the top. Keep moist until sprouted and well-established. Clover can be planted in the fall or in the spring; planting in the fall will usually result in an earlier spring crop that will start to germinate when warm soil temperatures allow.

We also carry a wider variety of Clover Seed in our Pasture and Plot department.

"great annual clover"

Juan A. on 1/1/2015 5:45:38 PM

Comment: I just received the package with crimson clover seeds. It was an easy and smooth process with the seller. It took less than a week I received the seeds and now ready to planted. Happy that this company advertise what have in stock not like other sites. Crimson clover is a great pollen plan for beneficial insects mainly butterflies and I can not wait to see the results. Crimson clover will produce tons of flowers for the butterflies.Thank you
