Basil-Genovese Herb Plant

SKU: GR-HE-BASG-MM
The 'Basil-Genovese' Herb is an annual herb that is cultivated in temperate climates throughout the world. It is one of the most popular basils because of its uniform growth habit and rich, sweet scent. Basil Genovese produces dense foliage throughout the warm season and thrives in full sun. Many chefs prefer this variety for pesto. It grows well in containers or any sunny ground location. The fresh leaves are wonderful whole, sliced or minced in salads, pesto, vinegars and marinades. They may be chopped and added to tomato dishes, pasta sauce and soups and stews. Pruning the leaves encourages branching and maximum growth throughout the season. Basil Genovese can grow 2-3 feet in height. Leaves may also be frozen or dried, but their oils are the strongest and sweetest when used fresh. Each 3-inch pot contains one Basil-Genovese herb plant. "Happy Herb Planter"

Virginia V R on 5/14/2015 1:30:59 PM

Comment: My order was received alive (very good sized) and very well packed. They have been planted in containers on my balcony and are flourishing. I have been ordering from Garden Harvest for at least four years and have always been pleased with the results. Last year I placed my order a bit late and some of the herbs I wanted were no longer available. I ordered from two other sources and was extremely disappointed in the results. The plants were small and sickly looking and a couple did not survive.
