Sweet Potato Plants

Our Sweet Potato plants are field-grown and shipped directly to you from our grower. We do not cut any corners in the shipping process: each order is shipped via Priority Mail.

Sweet Potato plants produce one of the world's richest, most flavorful vegetables. With their high fiber content, complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium, sweet potatoes are prized for their nutritional value.

Sweet Potato plants grow best in a well-drained, loamy to sandy soil. If you do not have this type of soil, make a ridge before planting. They need at least 1" of water per week. Watering should be reduced as the plants come closer to maturity; this helps prevent the tubers from cracking. Northern gardeners would benefit from covering the ridge with black plastic about 3 weeks before plants are expected to arrive. Beauregard Sweet Potato Plant—12 Plants

The Beauregard Sweet Potato Plant is one of the most commonly found sweet potatoes. The Beauregard has a coppery skin with a moderately deep orange-colored flesh. The Beauregard matures amazingly fast, usually in 90-105 days, and is resistant to white grubs, soil pox and cracking. It grows well in both Northern and Southern climes. Georgia Jet Sweet Potato Plant—12 Plants

The Georgia Jet Sweet Potato Plant is one of our most popular varieties. Maturing in only 90 days, this Sweet Potato has a deep orange pulp, a moist flesh and fantastic flavor. It is not overly large, so lends itself well to individual servings. Most Sweet Potatoes produced commercially in the U.S. are grown in the southern states, but this particular variety is more cold-tolerant than most. Georgia Jet will grow well for gardeners in both the northern and southern regions. Each order contains 12 sweet potato plants.

Nancy Hall Sweet Potato Plant—12 Plants

O'Henry Sweet Potato Plant—12 Plants

Once you try a tuber from a O'Henry Sweet Potato Plant, you will simply fall in love. They taste just as good as a Beauregard, only less sweet. It is a white-skinned, cream-fleshed sweet potato which cooks up drier than other sweet potato varieties. The tubers grow directly under the plant, making it much easier to harvest.
