Sunflower Chips will attract a larger variety of wild birds to your birdfeeders than feeding either Black Oil Sunflower Seeds or Grey Striped Sunflower Seeds. Sunflower Chips, also sometimes called Sunflower Hearts, being already hulled and processed to be free of dust and dirt, make the eating that much easier for the birds, offering a ready-to-eat diet high in protein and essential oils.


A win-win choice, there are no discarded hulls for you to clean up if you want grass to grow under your feeders and the birds do not have to expend additional energy to open the shells. In addition to the birds known for eating sunflower seeds, Goldfinches, Purple Finches, House Finches, Chickadees, Titmice, Nuthatches, Grosbeaks, Wrens and Woodpeckers will also frequent feeders stocked with Sunflower Chips, as will ground feeders, such as Robins, Thrushes, Mockingbirds, Thrashers, Catbirds, Sparrows and Bluebirds.


Sunflower Chips can be offered in finch, mixed, window and tube-type bird feeders.
