Organic Onion Seeds

All of our Onion Seeds for sale are certified organic and non-GMO, ensuring the plants will produce a nutritious harvest that is free of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Onion seedlings are very slow growing. If you are starting your onion seeds indoors, they should be started 16 weeks before your last average frost date. Seeds germination temperature should remain between 70 and 90 degrees. It takes 4-10 days for seeds to sprout. If the tops start to flop before you are ready to transplant, use a scissors and cut them back to 4 inches tall. The cuttings can be used in salads, stews, and soups. Transplants can be put into the garden as soon as the soil is workable. Each plant produces 1 onion.

To ensure both freshness and quality, we hand-fill every onion seed packet.

Tokyo Long White Onion produces 12 to 15-inch stalks a little bit larger than a scallion and not quite as large as a leek. The stalks are pure, crisp white, while the tops are bluish-green with a slightly more pungent flavor than the mildly flavored white bulb. Ideal for using in stir fry dishes, this heirloom Japanese bunching onion can also be used in salads or in any of your favorite recipes where scallions or leeks are called for. Tokyo Long White Onion is resistant to Pink Root and to Smut. Approximately 400 organic seeds per packet.
