Lupine Flower Seeds

Our Lupine Flower Seeds are perennial, a genus called Lupinus, also commonly called Lupins, with a short “i” in other parts of the world and Lupines with a long “i” in North America.

Lupinus, pronounced loo-PY-nus, has more than 280 species and tons of names, depending upon where it is growing, even having different species in bordering counties of the same state going by different names. In the wild, you may know it best as Texas Bluebonnet, Yelloweyes or any number of local names followed by “lupine”.  Having a very long taproot, they grow best in anything but clay soil. If you have clay, work the soil to a depth of 12 to 20-inches and add greensand or gypsum, depending upon your needs, in order to change the texture. All blooming plants require extra sustenance when getting ready to bloom or in bloom. We highly recommend Espoma Flower-tone® or Jungle Flora, both of which are approved for organic gardening, are formulated for blooming plants and are safe for use around your family and pets, as well as being safe for the environment.

Each order of our fresh Lupine seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality.
