The Heliotrope Plant produces sweet-smelling 4-inch flower heads, one at the top of each stem, with vivid color and continuous blooms. Due to its distinctive and pleasing fragrance, it is often called a Cherry Pie plant.
Heliotrope, pronounced HEE-lee-oh-trope, annual plants are easily maintained, have a tropical appearance and can be grown as a perennial in Zone 11. We recommend you feed regularly while they are blooming. Pinching the fading blossoms will result in a longer blooming season, whether grown in the ground or in containers. Warning: if you have pets that eat plants, heliotrope should be avoided.
