Coreopsis Flower Seeds

Our Coreopsis Flower seeds are one of the easiest perennials to grow and comes in a humongous variety of colors. Also called Tickseed, Calliopsis or Butter Daisy, the blossoms will normally have daisy-ish characteristics, though newer cultivars are yielding different blossom shapes, along with amazing colors. Some will bloom the first year, while others will test your patience as you anticipate next year’s wonderful blossoms.

Coreopsis, pronounced pronounced ko-ree-OP-sis, is drought tolerant once established and is easy to grow from seed, able to be sown early in the season or in late summer or fall. A member of the sunflower family, they will thrive in full to mostly sunny areas, and while most will be perennials, there are a few annual varieties. Native to U.S. prairies and plains, Coreopsis is a favorite wildflower for backyard gardeners and will bloom over and over again if deadheaded. Keep your vases handy and pick these blossoms to bring summer into your home! Though Tickseed does not require a lot of fertilization, and prefers poor soil, as long as it is well-drained, especially in the fall and during winter dormancy, feeding once or twice a season will ensure the healthiest plants. We recommend Espoma Flower-tone® or Jungle Flora, both of which are organically rich and safe for you, your pets, your children and the environment.

Each order of our fresh Coreopsis seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality.
