Colocasia Plants produce humongous leaves, ranging from 7 to 59 inches long, the largest definitely looking like the elephant ears from which they get their nickname. They can be can be grown in the ground or in large containers.
Colocasia, pronounced koll-uh-KAY-zee-uh, are more commonly known as Elephant-Ears. They can be grown year-round in the southern climates, even when in containers, though some damage may occur if kept outdoors in temperatures below 40°F for more than a few days. The richer the soil, the larger the leaves and taller the plant! We recommend starting with soil that is rich in organic material and then regular feeding with Neptune’s Harvest Fish and Seaweed liquid fertilizer.
