Cherokee Purple Heirloom Tomato Plant

SKU: GP-TPH-CHE-MM
The 'Cherokee Purple' Heirloom Tomato Plant produces a large, dark purple tomato. It is thought to have come from the Cherokee gardeners in Tennessee. It is often compared to Brandywine for its full and extremely sweet flavor. It has a rich, smoky taste. Cherokee Purple plants are very prolific, making them a good heirloom for home gardeners. The flesh is brick-red and slices are very attractive served on a plate. Plants make large vines that yield tomatoes fully 5 inches across and 3 1/2 inches deep. Each pot contains 1 tomato plant. "rich taste and high yield"

Patrick S on 4/15/2013 6:42:42 PM

Comment: This will be our third year with GHS purple cherokees. We've had great success with these plants. Lots of large, highly flavorful fruit. Bears even in the heat of an early Florida summer (it does shut down by July). Very pleased and looking forward to our new crop!

"looks great thanks!!"

"anticipation"

Claudia S on 8/2/2012 2:46:35 PM

Comment: I live in the desert and love to garden. I prefer the heirlooms for their taste. Haven't had much luck in the past-am trying this company now. Plant came in a very secure box and about a foot tall. It has been about 2 weeks and plant is thriving and growing like the proverbial weed. Crossing my fingers.

"Beautiful tomato plants"

Brenda Kreis on 7/9/2012 2:49:57 PM

Comment: Our Cherokee Purple tomato plants are big and beautiful but we don't have any ripe tomatoes yet because we planted these so late. We are very pleased so far.
