Organic Spinach Seed

Each packet of Certified Organic Spinach Seed has approximately 800 seeds. Each plant produces approximately 1/2-pound of fresh spinach.

Spinach seed is normally started indoors. When seed starting indoors, temperatures should be between 35-85 °F. Under the correct conditions, it takes 5-9 days for the spinach seed to germinate. Seeds should be started 5 weeks before your transplant date.

In order to grow the healthiest; best tasting spinach, the pH level of your garden soil should be 6.0-7.5. A soil tester will take the guess work out of determining the pH levels

Organic Tyee Spinach Seed

Organic Tyee Spinach Seed is a semi-savoyed variety, which simply indicates the type of leaves-only slightly rumpled; it makes this spinach easier to clean than a savoyed-type. Slow to bolt and cold-tolerant, many gardeners grow this variety through all four seasons, even over-wintering it in temperate climates. Tyee, pronounced Tie-ee, is a hybrid with very distinctive, dark green leaves with superior resistance to downy mildew, race 1 and 3, also known as blue mold. Its upright growth habit, growing up to 10-inches in height, keeps the leaves clean, meaning less work for you. Approximately 800 seeds per packet.
