Organic Celery Seed

Each packet of Certified Organic Celery Seed has approximately 300 seed, which plants a 150-foot row and produces approximately 120-pounds of fresh celery.

Celery seeds are generally started indoors. The seeds are very tiny, difficult to sow, and then difficult to thin later. If the celery seed is started indoors, temperatures should be between 75-85°F. Even under perfect conditions, it can take up to 3-weeks for the celery seed to germinate and as they grow they should be thinned to just one plant per pot/slot. Seeds should be started 12 weeks before your transplant date.

In order to grow the healthiest; best tasting celery, the pH level of your garden soil should be between 5.8-6.5 and have plenty of organic material and nutrients. A soil tester will take the guess work out of determining the pH levels, while a personal composter will provide the necessary organic material.

Organic Tall Utah Celery Seed prodcues celery with long clean stalks with a crisp, tender texture. It is excellent for eating raw or in salads. Tall Utah produces plants growing to 30" tall with 11"– 12" high quality, tender crisp stalks. It has good disease resistance. Approximately 300 seeds per packet.
