Caeruleum Polemonium Flower Seeds

Polemonium needs light to germinate, so sow atop the soil or in small indentations and do not cover, though you may press the seeds gently into the growing medium. Ideally, if starting Polemonium in the garden, your climate should be an indication of where is best to plant them. They will enjoy the full shade in hot climates but will thrive in sunny areas in cool climates. Not picky about pH, the soil can range from a pH of 5 to 8, but must be well-drained. If starting indoors ,Jacob’s Ladder should be started at least 8-weeks prior to the last frost date for your area, as germination can take as little as 10 days or as long as 4-weeks at soil temperatures of 68 to 72°F.  You can also start them in seed trays 8-weeks before Autumn, transplanting them to a well-prepared and carefully selected area, ensuring they are well-established prior to the first hard frost of late fall or winter.
