'Triple Crown' is a newer, red-fleshed seedless watermelon with light-and dark-green striped rind. This variety has deep red flesh that is firm and crisp. It even holds together when being cut for melon balls, but is still juicy, tender and flavorfully sweet. The plants yield plenty of 10-18 lb fruit. So, how do you get seeds from a seedless watermelon? Seedless varieties require a seeded pollinator in order to set fruit. Watermelons require lots of water and weeds can be devastating on young plants. Use our black Plastic Mulch to pre-warm the soil, conserve moisture, and suppress weed growth. Plant on hills, 2-3 plants to a hill on 5-foot centers and dig right through the plastic. You will be amazed at the results.
