Waltham Butternut is one of the top choices for winter squash. Great baked, steamed, broiled, mashed and in pies. It has thick rich sweet orange flesh. Choose a sunny location, plant later in the spring when soil is warm and all danger of frost is gone. Harvest before first frost or when ready. Leave 1-2 inches of stem attached.
