Espoma Holly-tone is a complete plant food with all essential nutrients required for your acid-loving plants. The following is a list of the most common plants that will benefit from Holly-tone feeding: | Amaryllis | Ferns | Juniper | Raspberry | | Andromeda | Fir | Lupine | Rhododendron | | Aster | Gardenia | Magnolia | Spruce | | Azalea | Heath | Marigold | Strawberries | | Bayberry | Heather | Mountain Ash | Whitecedar | | Bleedingheart | Hemlock | Mountain Laurel | Woodsorrel | | Blueberry | Holly | Oak | | | Camellia | Huckleberry | Pachysandra | | | Dogwood | Hydrangea | Phlox Pieris | | | Evergreens | Inkberry | Pine | | Established acid-loving plants should be fed twice yearly, in the spring and late fall. If the area to be fed is mulched, it is preferable to remove the mulch from around the plant(s), apply Holly-tone, and then restore the mulch around the plant(s). If this is not possible, double all recommended feeding rates. Spring: - Trees: 1 lb. (3 cups) of Holly-tone per inch of trunk diameter. Triple the quantity for diameters 3 inches and over.
- Shrubs: 1 cupful of Holly-tone® per foot of branch spread. Double the quantity if branch spread is 3 feet or larger.
- Beds: When preparing new beds, mix 10 lbs. of Holly-tone per 100 square feet (or 1 cupful per 3 sq. feet of area) and mix or till into the top four or five inches of soil. Feed established beds 5 lbs. of Holly-tone per 100 square feet (or 1/4 cup per plant).
Fall: - The plants should be given a light feeding in the late fall. Use half the recommended quantities for spring.
New Plantings: - Use 1/2 cup per plant and sprinkle it around the exposed hole before setting the plant.
Also available in 8-lb., 20-lb., and 40-lb. bags.
