Wrens are small birds that have a tendency to nest around human homes and in birdhouses, thus the name House Wren.

House Wrens inhabit gardens, hedgerows, brushy woods, wetlands, and other edges. They use a variety of habitats, as long as they have a dense shrub layer.

Wrens are active nesters. Offering them plenty of bird houses and nesting materials throughout your backyard is a great way to attract these songbirds.

Wrens will not usually visit your birdfeeders as they are predominantly insect eaters; however they do get thirsty! Have plenty of water sources available for them in the form of a pedestal or hanging birdbath.

Suet is another good attractant for these insect eaters. Offer plenty of suet treats around your yard!
