Potatoes are a dietary source of starch and carbohydrates and a storehouse of vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
They are among the earliest vegetables planted in the garden, as soon as the soil reaches 45°. Potatoes can also be planted as late as July. Late potatoes are best for winter storage.
Because quality of the seed potato is the most important part of the plant, we supply only Maine Certified Seed Potatoes.
Each 1-pound bag of seed potatoes will plant a 10 foot row. Potatoes should be fertilized every 3 weeks, we recommend using Neptune's Harvest Fish & Seaweed. See our blog artilce on How to Plant Potatoes for complete planting instructions.
Harvesting can be done once the tops have died. For complete harvesting instructions, see our Harvesting potatoes blog entry.
