Peas are a valuable source of protein, iron, vitamin C, and insoluble fiber.
Peas may be planted whenever the soil temperature is at least 45°F, and the soil is dry enough to till without its sticking to garden tools. Pea plants are most productive and more easily picked when trained to climb a trellis netting for support.
Pick snap peas when the pods are swollen (appear round), snow peas are generally harvested before the individual peas have grown to the size of BBS, sugar peas should be picked when the pods first start to fatten but before the seeds grow very large.
