Salvia Plants

Salvia plants produce dense, upright spikes bursting with showy flowers above attractive textured foliage. Being extremely attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees, deer tend to leave them alone and they have very few pest or disease problems.

Salvia, (pronounced SAL-vee-uh) also commonly called Meadow Sage, starts blooming in late spring and continues into the fall. They are drought tolerant and tolerate poor soils so you can pretty much “plant ‘em and forget ‘em”. Pruning spent blooms will encourage re-blooming, but why wait until they’re spent? They make stunning cut flowers to add height and texture to summer vases.
