Leafy Spurge Plants are robust, sun-loving perennials with softly colored bracts (modified or specialized small leaves) that surround subtly defined flowers, usually ranging in shades of bright yellow to chartreuse. Leafy Spurge is also known as perennial Euphorbia, (pronounced Yew-FOR-bee-ah) is very easy to grow and literally thrives in poor soil, as long as it is well-drained. Euphorbia is considered a trouble-free plant that requires almost no maintenance and in addition to their spring and summertime interest, their fall colors can be quite striking. Though these varieties are perennials, there are also annual Euphorbias that only grow as perennials in very limited zones.
