Phlox are native wildflowers that produce mounds of delicate, star-shaped flowers that bloom from early summer to the beginning of fall, and bees and other pollinators love them! There are two types of phlox: creeping phlox and garden phlox. Creeping phlox spreads out and stays low to the ground, while garden phlox grow upright. To grow well, phlox need moist soil that drains well and at least 6 hours of sunlight every day. They come back every year in zones 4 to 8.
