The Tumbleweed Pet Poo Converter is one compact unit consisting of two sturdy nesting boxes enclosed in a UV treated, high impact, and polypropylene hardened plastic case. Worms will eat and breed in pet manure in the top box, which has a perforated bottom, allowing the mineral rich liquid waste to drain through to the collector box below. Simply put—“it’s poo in and fertilizer out!” You can dilute the liquid waste to be used as a fertilizer on your ornamental plants, while harvesting the “worm poo” or worm castings left in the top box, as desired. Pet Waste Composter and Worm Farm

The Pet Waste Composter is designed to minimize odors, but you may find that a base of Coco Fiber or other high carbon material will neutralize smells even better and act as a buffer to fruit flies and other unwanted pests.

Worms compost as they burrow, their stomach straining out the bacteria and parasites for them to eat. The worms then leave behind an increased volume of beneficial bacteria, the same bacterium that digests pathogens and helps to free up nutrients in the soil.

You can also compost other animal waste, to include droppings from rabbits, hedgehogs, prairie dogs, chinchillas, ferrets and cats. (Kitty litter is not able to be composted and can kill the worms, so be careful that droppings are not mixed with litter.) It is also not recommended that you compost pig or bird waste, as the number of pathogens they contain can harm humans.
