Our Lavender Flower Seeds produce one of the most versatile perennial plants you can grow. Used in everything from aromatherapy to cooking, lavender enjoys a long-lived, in fact, ancient, reputation for the good it has brought to the world. Lavender is grown ornamentally and commercially, used widely around the entire globe, fresh, dried or processed to extract the prized essential oils. Lavender is a genus of about 39 species of flowering plants residing in the mint family and including herbaceous annuals, short lived perennials and subshrubs or shrubs. Normally having grayish green, sometimes quite silvery foliage, the blossoms are held on stems along which bracts, a form of specialized leaf, turns hues from bluish white to darkest purple, forming those oh-so aromatic and highly recognizable spikes of flowers. As with all flowering plants, a healthy diet is important, though Lavender will thrive with only two feedings per year. We highly recommend Espoma Flower-tone® or Jungle Flora, both of which are approved for organic gardening, are formulated for blooming plants and are safe for use around your family and pets, as well as being safe for the environment. Each order of our fresh Lavender seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality. |
