Corona Rudbeckia Flower Seeds

SKU: SFS-RUD-CORO-ER
Our ‘Corona’ Rudbeckia Flower seed is one of the more heat tolerant varieties of Black-eyed Susan, these well-branched plants bearing large, 4-inch, golden yellow blossoms with that signature warm brown eye. The solid coloration and foliage color make this an ideal companion plant to any number of other Gloriosa Daisies or as a specimen plant in and around landscape features, such as rocks or driftwood, adding bright color and drawing the eye. Approximately 50 seeds per each hand-filled packet. More details...

Corona Rudbeckia Flower Seeds

Rudbeckia are ridiculously easy to germinate and grow. They will readily self-sow, in fact, so if you want to keep them in close check, remove the spent blossoms before they go to seed. Starting them indoors or out is up to you, the difference being that starting them indoors will ensure earlier blooms in the garden. You can sow the seeds in a seed tray with planting medium or you can sow them directly into the soil of the garden once all danger of frost has passed. Plant the seeds 1/8 to 1/4-inch deep, covering them lightly, not tamping down the soil. Water carefully so as not to dislodge the seeds, or water from the bottom, and just wait for them to take off, watering as the top of the soil starts to dry out. At  soil temperatures of about 70°F, the seedlings should be sprouting in about 2-weeks. If you’ve started them indoors, transplant to your chosen spot after the first true leaves have appeared, removing the top on the seed tray as necessary as the seedlings grow and then hardening them off by acclimating them to the outdoors as needed prior to transplanting, ensuring a quick and healthy start.
