Chrysanthemum Plants

Chrysanthemum (pronounced kris-AN-theh-mum) Plants are more commonly called ‘Mums’ and come in three distinct species with different growth habits, flowering habits and levels of hardiness. They are: Belgian, Yoder and Perennial Mums. They each require different care, have quite different soil and nutrient requirements and, like people, are singularly attractive for their individual differences.

Yoder Garden Mums are the fall-blooming variety and the most popular of all mums. They come in about every color of the rainbow and the flowers can be as simply beautiful as a daisy or as flamboyantly decorative as the frilliest ruffles. Belgian Mums produce a perfectly round plant with flowers that bloom all at the same time, displaying this huge mound of perfectly formed flowers. Belgians are also available in 4 different blooming seasons, providing you with amazing color all season long. The Perennial Mum blooms in the fall and is guaranteed to over-winter and bloom year after year. This species has some of the largest flowers and the ones you will find in lavish bouquets and the most beautiful fall arrangements.
