Goji Berry Plants

Goji Berry plants, one of the “super fruits”, have been grown in the fertile valleys of the Himalayan Mountains for centuries, but made their way to North America when Chinese laborers were helping to build the transcontinental railroads. Loaded with vitamins B and C, antioxidants and healthful amino acids, they were only available through Chinese resources and importation. Now they are being grown commercially in the U.S., which means you can grow your own!

Goji Berries, pronounced go-gee, are also sometimes called Wolfberry, Chinese Wolfberry or Lycium Barbarum. The berries can be eaten fresh, dried or juiced and have been described as having a flavor that is a combination of cranberry, strawberry and raspberry. Mmmmm…and good for you!

Our Goji Berry Plants are shipping now as bare root plants. Read about our plant guarantee on the Shipping Policy page.

Goji Berry Plant

Price $6.50

The Goji Berry plant has long been used by the Chinese as a "super food." Its antioxidant properties help to cleanse the body of harmful free radicals while providing exceptional nutrition in a small, tasty package. Its purple flowers are trumpet-shaped and have long, white stamens. The Goji Berry plant (Lycium barbarum) is a deciduous perennial that can grow to 8 feet tall and just as wide, but when grown in a container it won’t get that large. A 5-gallon bucket will work well; the Goji plant quits growing once the roots hit bottom. It is extremely cold and heat tolerant, even tolerating highly humid climates, so it is highly adaptable for everyone! Our variety produces fewer thorns than most Goji plants.
